Space Firebird to JAMMA Adapter

Description

Allows you to play your Space Firebird arcade PCB in a JAMMA cabinet or a supergun device.

Space Firebird is a 1980 arcade video game developed by and distibuted by Nintendo in Japan and Europe. In America, the game was distributed by Sega-Gremlin. It’s a slightly improved take on a shoot’em up inspired by the likes of Galaxian and Moon Cresta, though not nearly as successful. In 1981 Fortek released a remake of Space Firebird called Space Demon on the same hardware.

Space Firebird has some fairly sophisticated graphical capability. Its horizontal resolution is a whopping 512 pixels, which is double of a typical game from that period and includes some notable graphical effects like basic sprite rotatation and scaling.

The adapter uses a series of female headers for an easy, stable connection and three additional cables, one for video, sound, and one more for power. Since the game was initially designed to be used with Sanyo color inverting video monitors, the adapter has an on board high speed video inverter in order to provide full JAMMA compatibility.
