Taito to JAMMA Adapter

Description

Allows you to use your Taito classic pre-JAMMA game, in a JAMMA cabinet or a super gun device.

After a huge success with Space Invaders, Taito published many great arcade games in the 1980s. While their early games in the late 70s had unique hardware and pinout, this was standardized in the early 80s and a large number of games were released with the same pinout.

As a general rule, Taito games in this conversion class have regular edge card connector (G) for audio, video and control as well as a large 12 pin header (H) for power. Some games may also have another card edge connector (T) for additional power delivery, but connecting these typically isn’t required. Their boards can normally deliver enough current to all layers through the ribbon cables. If stability problems occur with pcbs with the T connector, it’s advisable to first turn up the PSU voltage a bit. If that doesn’t remedy the problem, the adapter has a place for an additional power connector that can be added to feed the T edge connector. Up to this point, no games have been found to require this.

The adapter comes with the necessary power cable to connect the adapter to the H header on the pcb.

This is the list of compatible games that can be used with this adapter:

Some games in the list above, like Arkanoid and Operation Wolf, have atypical controls and aren’t compatible with JAMMA controls. While the game will run and display fine, it can’t be played normally.
