Description
Allows you to play you Nintendo Playchoice 10 games in a JAMMA cabinet or a supergun device.
After the success with the NES / Famicom consoles, Nintendo developed what can be thought of as cross-promotional hardware, to run its most popular NES games inside an arcade cabinet. Two such systems were developed. The VS system tried to be more of an arcade system and used modified NES games, while the PC-10 system was very similar to the home console, and used the exact same game ROMs with an additional ROM for gameplay instuctions. The PC-10 had a secondary CPU that controlled the display for the game select and gameplay hint screens and the game timer.
Two versions of the PC-10 system exist. The “single” system, used a single display which would switch between the game and the hint / timer screen. The “dual” system had two dedicated monitors for each of the two functions. The “single” system was a retrofit for the VS system cabinets and used a pinout similar to the VS system pinout. The “dual” system was a retrofit for the PunchOut cabinet and used a 56 pin pinout, nearly identical to PunchOut.
The adapter works with the Dual version of the Playchoice 10 but it is not compatible with the Single version of the PCB. This adapter features a video switching circuit, and video inverter circuit and a sound amplifier.

Compatible Games
This is the list of compatible games that can be used with this adapter:
The adapter has been tested with several PC-10 dual boards.
Important: Each monitor is driven by an independent timing circuit on the PC-10 PCB. The timing between the two video signals may be out of sync to such an extent that it may require an adjustment to the V.HOLD and H.HOLD adjustment on the monitor to sync properly when switching from the game screen to the hint / timer screen.
Revision History:
Rev 1.0: Initial Design.
Rev 1.1: Changes to the video switching IC supply circuit.
