JAMMA to Taito Cabinet Adapter

Description

Allows you to use your JAMMA game in a cabinet wired according to the Taito classic pre-JAMMA pinout class.

As a general rule, Taito game cabinets in this conversion class, have a regular edge card connector (G) for audio / video and controls, as well as a large 12 pin header (H) for power. Some games may also have another card edge connector (T) for additional power delivery.

This adapter only requires that the H connector be plugged in. The T connector is not required and should be left unused.

Compatible Games

This is the list of compatible game cabinets that can be used with this adapter:

Some games in the list above, like Arkanoid and Operation Wolf, have atypical controls and aren’t compatible with JAMMA controls. While the game will run and display fine, it can’t be played normally.

Button and Switch Layout:

In most circumstances this adapter will work as intended with your cabinet without any modifications. Problems may occur playing some JAMMA games in a modified cabinet with less than 2 buttons, or only one coin switch present.

If the button order is wrong you may need to swap the wires going to the buttons behind the control panel. If a button doesn’t register at all, say only JAMMA button 2 works, you may need to run a jumper from button 2 to button 1 at the cabinet wire harness edge connector.

If the game can’t be coined up, say in a case where only COIN2 switch is wired in the cabinet, and the game only supports the COIN1 switch, you may need to swap the coin wires on the harness or potentially jumper them together to get the game to coin up.
